You’d like to be close to town – it’s fun to have a wander round the amazing shops, stop for tea at the Milk Bar and maybe pop in for après at the Farinet but you also want to enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains and chance to appreciate the wonderful scenery. And then you need to think about the children who are all learning to ski but who’ll still have the energy to go sledging, snow-balling and snowman building afterwards. Where to go?
Dilemma solved – book Chalet Sherwood for the week. Perfectly located on Chemin de Moulins, it is just a short walk (or chauffeur driven ride) to the centre of the resort and the Medran lift but it’s also right next to Les Moulins nursery slopes. That should keep everyone happy.
The chalet is delightful – spacious, light and airy with amazing views from the large open-plan living room and from the top floor bedrooms. This is the penthouse apartment after all. Enjoy alpine designer living at its finest – wonderful wood interiors, elegant dining room, generous bathrooms and the perfect balcony for pre-dinner drinks and canapés. Plus there is a separate TV room for the children – could it get any better?
Did I mentioned that another reason that Chalet Sherwood is perfect for two families or a group of friends is that it has two wonderful master bedrooms with floor to ceiling French windows on to private balconies – so no-one need have room envy.
Sometimes everything in life just works out perfectly.

"Clad in caramel-hued timbers and dressed with fur throws and reindeer pelts is the sophisticated new Chalet Sherwood. Sleeping 10, Sherwood is found in a secluded part of Verbier, were little ones need only step out of the ski room to be on the Les Moulins nursery slopes. There's a TV den for the kids and the adults can sip cocktails by the open fire upstairs and plot how to put the 24-hour-in-resort chauffeur service to best use."

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is accompanied by selected house wines and is served on six evenings of your stay.
The chalet provides a selection of beers, wines, champagne, spirits and mixers. The house champagnes are Perrier Jouet Grand Brut and G.H.Mumm Cordon Rouge. There is a wine list available if you would like to upgrade your wine or champagne (payable in-resort).
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes.
