You’re going to ski one of the world’s best and most famous ski areas, with an enviable snow record so you need somewhere equally special to stay. This is not the chalet for those who like to follow the crowds – this is individual. The colour scheme is bright, the rock quotes are everywhere and the ‘toys’ all have a quirky touch.
This chalet has all the luxury facilities and touches but not in the standard format – how about having your very own original Wurlitzer jukebox with 100 classic rock albums loaded instead of a usual music system. There are guitars, amps, a glorious bright red Coca Cola fridge and American rock memorabilia like it’s going out of fashion.
You prop up the stylish white bar that is just built for sipping cocktails while watching a pool game played on a table made from a full size Mini Cooper. You admire the hand painted wooden floor or just curl up for a quick snooze on the enormous sofa. If you’re feeling energetic go to the gym or swim in the pool under the watchful (psychedelic) eyes of Jim Morrison or lounge in the hot tub admiring the dramatic scenery.
This is a fun chalet that will charm even the most cynical and the ‘garage room’ on the top floor with it VW van and Jeep beds is kid’s paradise whatever your actual age. What makes this chalet so special is the care taken with all the details – this isn’t a chalet with a rock theme but one where homage to American rock is integral to the design – even down to the place mats.
The four main bedrooms are stylish, fun and have the most amazingly comfortable beds. Every room has a funky, deep bath tub in a matching colour palate to the rom as well as a wet-room style shower so all tastes are catered for. Sleep well, eat well and ski the Espace Killy – you have reached nirvana.
Forget Route 66 – the Route de Tignes is where it’s at so for this year at least, forego chocolate-box-pretty and come and release your inner Hendrix.
I'll be totally honest, the day I viewed this chalet I had preconceptions that it wouldn't be for me, but I was wrong. It really is difficult not to be charmed by this total one off. “Hey its only rock n’ roll but I like it!”. Comfort, luxury, escapism and fun - what perfect holidays are made of.

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful. On the chef's day-off, a continental breakfast is served.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Carefully selected house wines accompany the meal and dinner is served on six nights, leaving one night to explore the extraordinary restaurants of Tignes.
There is a champagne reception on the day of your arrival and the chalet offers a complimentary selection of house wines, spirits & soft drinks.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
