I have visited a lot of chalets in my time and I can be pretty difficult to impress but this chalet blew me away. As a Méribel resident, I watched with interest as the chalet was being built so I was delighted to be invited to visit the finished product. And I can’t wait to go back.
The chalet is deceptive as the smart but rather austere exterior gives little hint of the light, spacious and extraordinarily stylish interior. This chalet, one of the most spacious I have seen, is spread over five floors and has space for everyone to relax from the games room, to the TV room or the wonderful light, bright sitting room with its floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views across the valley. Even the hallways and landings are vast creating a wonderful sense of space. And on sunny days there is a large balcony with loungers to enjoy a glass or two while enjoying the view.
The bedrooms are super large with bathrooms that are definitely big enough to swing a herd of cats. The bathrooms all have bath and walk-in showers so you don’t have to choose your preference and as all of them have Bose sound systems, the only problem is that you’ll stay in them far too long. All the bedrooms are slightly different in design and the two master rooms have additional dressing rooms but I guarantee there’ll be no bedroom envy here.
As you’d expect in a chalet of this quality, there is a lovely spa/fitness area including an enormous spa Jacuzzi with its customised lighting and a great gym with running machine, bike and weights. In fact the only problem with a stay at Chalet Le Grenier is finding the time to actually go skiing.
Luckily you're right opposite the Morel chair lift so just a hop and a skip from the skiing. Plus the driver service means that you can be whisked to the slopes and back again to the haven of one of best chalets in the Alps.
From under-floor heating and mood lighting to the Sonos sound system throughout the chalet and carefully selected soft furnishings, everything at Chalet Le Grenier is designed to ensure you have the best holiday you can imagine. Even the office is so lovely, that you’ll wish you brought some work with you just so you can pretend to use it.

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is accompanied by specially selected house wine and is served on 6 nights of your stay.
The chalet provides a selection of beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks & mixers. Champagne is served with canapes.
