What a project! You invite a group of your very nearest and divinely dearest, or some well-deserving colleagues, to the Alps. The purpose might be a family celebration, a reunion to reaffirm the unfailing bonds of friendship, or a gracious ‘thank-you’. You will escape the conventional, the routine or the humdrum of professional interactions. You will find a place to bond and to harmonise. You need a luxurious playground with the facilities for such an occasion. You need Le Petit Chalet.
From the moment you step out of the helicopter on Le Petit Chalet’s private helipad, or however else you choose to arrive at this privileged location that gazes across to Mont Blanc, two elements are crystal clear. Privacy and fun. Sometimes they cancel each other out but your choice of Le Chalet is a win/win situation and you have won them both.
You are on the sunny side of the valley, your eyes follow the contours of the magnificent mountains in front of you to the one that reigns supreme, the massif of Mont Blanc. Deer emerge from the shade of surrounding woodland to leap across a field of snow. You can breathe, everything is going to be perfect. The team at Le Chalet are well briefed and highly professional, you can leave it to them and direct your focus where you need to. Which will be, essentially, about pure the enjoyment shared between you and your party. And staring at that mountain.
The space as you enter this modern alpine palace is calm. With carefully curated artwork and decorative designer pieces throughout, the atmosphere is elegant. South facing windows serve as a reminder of the magnificence out there among the rocky cliffs, the ice-filmed crags. With three lounges and seven bedrooms, there is accommodation for up to fourteen people to relax into luxury, to find quiet when they need to, perhaps in the peace of their bathroom with a view to the highest mountain in western Europe. They can find focus around the board-room table where minds sharpened by that awe-inspiring landscape find solutions to problems that appeared, back in the city, intractable. And then they can come together for the best party they have ever experienced.
The chef has worked in a Michelin star kitchen and brings that wealth of experience to your plate. Everything that goes into the exquisitely prepared dishes is fresh, organic and responsibly sourced. With an expertly stocked wine cellar, a Champagne station and a cocktail bar, this is a venue that understands the ingredients of a celebration. It also recognises the sybaritic pleasures of warmth and watery indulgence when the air outside is crisp and the ground blanketed in snow. The six-metre pool is equipped with jets against which you can put some effort into your swimming, and whether you relax in the bubbling jacuzzi or the heat of the sauna, that mountain landscape is right there, through the glass.
Of course, this connection with Mont Blanc means that you are in Chamonix, only an hour from Geneva airport by luxury chauffeured transfer if you have opted against the helicopter. Many of the party will be drawn by the world class skiing, but others will find that Chamonix is rich with options. A ride on the rail tracks up to the Mer de Glace, a husky drawn sledge, they will fall in love with the mountains. Did we mention love? This venue possesses that special beauty worthy of marriage festivities that everyone will remember. And it knows how to have a party.
