Chamonix has just brought its A game to the luxury chalet market. This highly exclusive chalet reaches new heights of style and luxury thanks to incredible attention to detail and the most beautiful of furnishings. Chalet Alta has every right to be pleased with itself and looks forward to greeting you this winter.
If you like your exclusivity with jaw-dropping mountain scenery and some of the best skiing in the Alps, then Chalet Alta is for you. Located in the quaint village of Le Lavancher, your perfect luxury chalet sits in the heart of the Chamonix valley. Chalet Alta also knows the importance you place on balancing idyllic tranquility with morning convenience. With warmed ski boots underfoot, take a seat as your chauffeur drives you just five minutes to the Grand Montets or ten minutes to Chamonix centre. Why rush that extra freshly baked croissant when you know there is a service like that at your garage door?
You have just had one of those days on the mountain that you will remember forever. Only a skier knows that feeling of elation as you glide home.
Boots and helmets lie abandoned in the boot room. It is time for you and your robe to sweep past the opulent furniture and beyond through the French doors. Walk like you own the place. After all, it’s not every week you have your own covered outdoor swimming pool. Watch plump snowflakes fall around you from within your heated oasis. Soggy poolside slippers will forever be a thing of the past.
Chalet Alta was born to spoil and indulge you. Slippers back on, it’s spa o’clock. That wonderful hour of the day where time stands still. Complete with a sauna, hammam and gym (sorry, that’s the last time we’ll mention such a word), this is the height of après ski pampering. A glass of champagne to accompany you sir? Oh, well, if you’re offering. It would be rude to refuse.
As the hour turns from après spa to evening, it’s time to regroup around the stunning feature fireplace. Canapés are served around the flickering flames before you sink into one of Chalet Alta’s sumptuous dining chairs. Cleverly designed to ease you into the celebration of tonight’s four-course dinner.
With your stomach as satisfied as your ski legs, retire upstairs to your stunning suite with your digestif of choice. With heavy eyes and blissful content, you know it won’t be long before you sink into the cloud that is your bed. As with everything in Chalet Alta, only the finest materials will do. Perhaps leave the curtains open and watch the night sky stretch out from across your private terrace. You might even catch a glimpse of a shooting star from within the inky depths.
I think it’s time for us to say goodnight and allow you to rest in euphoric slumber. You have found complete peace.
Please Note : Winter 23/24 - There is a new chalet being built next door to Alta & there maybe some noise or dirsruption.

" I love this chalet - it is well built, has beautifully designed interiors and has the amazing views that you would expect from its location. The facilities are great but the real joy is that it blends the indoors and outdoors so perfectly with its magnificent swimming pool so you can truly appreciate the setting."

Do you love food? I don't know many people that don't - there is something wonderfully comforting and indulgent about having somebody else take control of the kitchen. But when that person is a talented chef with hands-on experience of high end restaurants, you know you’re in for a mouth-watering treat. We hand-pick our chalet partners for their beautiful properties, stand out service and their dedication to gastronomy. Here’s a taste of what you can expect when staying in one of our catered ski chalets:
No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? On the chef's day-off you will be served a continental breakfast of wonderful French bread and pastries. So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet to find afternoon tea laid out ready for you. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. You will enjoy carefully selected house wines with dinner which the chef has paired to his dishes although you can choose to upgrade the wines from the chalet's a la carte list. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on six nights, leaving you one night free to enjoy the local restaurants.
The chalet provides a stocked bar with a range of spirits, beer and soft drinks. Champagne is served with canapés on your arrival night.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
