Chalet N in Oberlech wouldn’t look out of place in a James Bond movie. He would arrive by private jet into Innsbruck, where Chalet N’s helicopter transfer would be waiting to receive him.
Once at Chalet N, a martini, shaken not stirred, would be chilling on the black bar. Whether James Bond would perch on a zebra skin barstool or stride past is another question. His Bond Girl would be waiting, seductively poised, on the magnificent day bed that juts out into the rather spectacular swimming pool.
Perhaps after a martini, it would be time to breeze through the rain shower and into the double massage suite. Even Bond has to stop occasionally. There’s probably a higher chance of this when his Bond Girl and the attentive therapy staff at Chalet N are teasing out the knots.
From the relaxation room, via the sauna to the state of the art outdoor hot tub. Sleek and sunken, only the hot tub at Chalet N would be worthy of a secret agent. With uninterrupted views across the slopes and to the snowy peaks beyond, this seems all very serene for Bond.
Perhaps after a second martini and a round of baccarat chemin de fer, things might change.
As a symbol of glamour and sophistication, James’ Bond Girl will have no qualms about getting ready in any one of Chalet N’s seven suites. With each bedroom featuring a luxurious living area and dressing room, even those with the highest of standards will be more than satisfied. Knowing the state-of-the-art features, combined with regional materials and latest technology in each suite, we shouldn’t really have doubted the suitability for James Bond and his female sidekick. Combined with the undivided attention of their very own butler, you know that advice, reservations and requests for the award-winning chef will be met with a similar speed to one of Bond’s gadgets.
The evening’s proceedings rightly start in one of the finest wine cellars the Alps has even seen. Notable not only for its collection of fine wines but for the experience enhancing interior design. Alternatively, perhaps a glass of champagne on the terrace’s fur drapped snowfa would be the location of choice for a canapé soirée.
Either way, we better move swiftly onto dinner before any antagonists arrive across the slopes. The butler will ensure that everyone is seated and that no one can get between Bond and fondue.
If Chalet N was the latest Bond movie, we’re sure it would be a Licence to Thrill.
