Nominated for and winner of 'Austria's Best Ski Chalet in 2014', Chalet 1597 is a special building and a beautiful refurbishment of a timeless structure filled with character - and now filled with luxurious amenities and jaw dropping interior treatments.
There are no prizes or awards for guessing the date of Chalet 1597’s construction. Yep, that’s right, 1597 and the owners have done a fabulous job refurbishing and sympathetically treating the interiors, retaining many of the original features.
Located in the Stubenbach area of Lech the chalet is a three minute drive away from both the nearest piste and the centre of the resort of Lech.
This unique and beautiful chalet is set out over three floors and sleeps twelve guests in five spacious and sumptuously appointed en-suite bedrooms, one of which is a children’s room with four beds. The living room is a cosy bolthole and opens up from the dining room which has an open fire, an essential element in a luxury ski vacation. Nothing finer than toasting your toes around the flickering flames in the evening, glass of wine in hand as a glow of contentment takes you over.
You can access a wonderful home cinema from the living room. The dining room comfortably seats fourteen guests and the chalet also boasts a spa area with Hammam, Bio Sauna and attractive relaxation area. The wine cave and tasting area will no doubt occupy some of your time – after all it would be rude not to indulge. No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? Full breakfast is served every morning. So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights.
The chalet provides beer, house wines, a drinks tray of 3 bottles of house spirits and mixers. Champagne is served with canapés on 6 nights of your stay.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
