Chalet Illimani, recently completed in 2010, is a stunning family retreat which combines traditional Tyrolian craftsmanship with elegance and a relaxing home from home atmosphere. What struck us when we entered this chalet is the sense of space that this luxury ski property exudes. Perfect for families and groups of friends alike, Chalet Illimani has everything you could wish for in a luxury family chalet.

The epitome of tranquility, Chalet Illimani is in a great spot, located in Pettneu at the edge of a forest in a quiet sunny position with views up to the Hohe Riffler glacier. The chauffeur driven service is available at the drop of hat to take guests over to the main ski lifts in St Anton, which is just a short 6-8 minute drive. Families can also enjoy the small local ski area, perfect for the little ones and beginners, which is just a snow balls throw from the chalet.

Set over 4 expansive floors and boasting upwards of 400 sq metres of living space, Chalet Illimani is blessed with ample space. The chalet can comfortably sleep 8 adults and 4 children, and has an additional staff bedroom which also work well as a bedroom for a nanny. Entering the appealing entrance hall we were immediately struck by the sense of space. Hand crafted terra cotta tiles flow through double wooden doors and into the drawing room where a grand open fireplace forms the heart of the room. Beautifully furnished with aged leather chairs, antique Austrian hand painted furniture, Moroccan light fittings and contemporary touches, Illimani is a stunning property. The charming open plan kitchen and dining space has been conceived as a traditional Austrian Stube which can cater for 12 to 14 guests.

Two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are located on the first floor, with high exposed old wood beam ceilings, a stunning feature throughout the chalet. One of the doubles boasts its own fire place and a walk in wardrobe and both bedrooms have access to the expansive balcony. There is an additional double bedroom on this floor and the cosy children’s room which features four singles in the form of 2 bunk beds, this room benefits from ample space and plenty of toys to keep the children happy and entertained for hours on end. The whole top is dedicated to the impressive master bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom and separate toilet. This room enjoys it’s own private balcony which offers up the perfect place to enjoy the stunning views across the Arlberg valley and the mountain vistas beyond.

No luxury ski ranch is complete without a spa area and Illimani does not disappoint. Located on the lower ground floor of the chalet there is a sauna comfortably seating 6. The spa also features a cold water bucket shower and a relaxation area with a large flat screen TV. Also located on this floor is the games room which features a table tennis table. A separate outside entrance down to this floor takes guests to the heated ski room, with boot warming racks and storage for winter warmers.
