Chalet Ulysee is situated in a unique and elevated position in Zermatt’s “Beverly Hills” region of Winklematten, offering breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding mountains. You’ll appreciate this stunning 5 star property, built in the typical Alpine style, clad in weathered wood. Ulysse combines contemporary with classical Swiss architecture to pleasing effect. It’s a very attractive and luxurious dwelling, you’ll love being here.
Ulysse is a new build chalet and was completed in November 2009. One, of only a handful, of free-standing chalets in Zermatt. You can ski to within 100m of the door and it is conveniently situated next to the free ski bus stop, adjacent to a children’s play area and a shop. It takes three minutes to walk to the Klein Matterhorn ski lift and ten minutes to stroll to the centre of this charming and very photogenic ski resort.
Zermatt is very much the gift that keeps on giving. The more time you spend in the village and the more inquisitive you are, the more you keep discovering and exploring the many narrow alley ways leading of to reveal other aspects of Zermatt. After a while Zermatt gets under your skin and you can’t help but be charmed by its environs.
The chalet features a light and airy open plan living space with an open fire, a lovely feature in the evening, when you’re toasting your toes and reliving the great day you had on the mountain. The large windows afford views of the iconic Matterhorn and flood light into the interiors. The bedrooms are sumptuously comfortable and the bathrooms are very attractive.
The chalet is equipped with broadband wireless internet access throughout and also features cable TV, DVD and an integrated surround sound system. The lower ground floor houses a ski room, laundry and wellness area. There is a pine wood sauna, lush rainfall shower, WC and relaxation area with flat-screen TV and surround sound.

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is accompanied by specially selected house wine and is served on 6 nights of your stay.
