Chalet Shalimar is a beautiful and superbly appointed luxury ski chalet and is one of Zermatt’s hidden treasures. Nestled in the peaceful heart of Winkelmatten, a district the locals fondly refer to as the “Beverley Hills” of Zermatt, and for good reason. Chalet Shalimar is a haven of serenity situated in an ideal location. Keen skiers will love the fact that you can ski to and from the chalet and the gondola nearby takes you up to the Glacier Paradise. The heart of Zermatt is just a 15 minute walk away or 5 minutes in an electric taxi.
Chalet Shalimar is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the stunning views of the majestic Matterhorn, which are arguably some of the best in the resort. Each apartment has a perfect view of this iconic peak from a balcony or terrace.
The interiors are decked out in traditional alpine wood and timber throughout and the soft furnishings blend perfectly to create a relaxing and cosy atmosphere. The spacious top floor of Chalet Shalimar is dedicated to the living and dining rooms which have floor to ceiling sliding doors which allow the light to flood in, further enhancing the sense of spaciousness and seemingly bringing the outdoors inside.
The spacious balconies afford breath taking views, providing the perfect back drop for a pre-dinner drink or for catching the warmth of the sun. You’re sure to want to spend time here gazing in awe at the stunning surroundings. After the sun sets, settle in on the sumptuous sofas in front of the roaring fire and toast your toes as you watch the flickering flames and feel the warmth of the flames. The spacious main dining room can seat up to 20 guests when taken as a whole chalet and the flexible living areas mean there is always somewhere to find peace and quiet.
The wellness and spa area in Chalet Shalimar is at the heart of the property and boasts a beautiful indoor swimming pool that enjoys wonderful views of the Matterhorn. In this area you will also find a sauna, hammam and massage room, a perfect space to relax and be pampered to soothe the fatigue after a great day on the mountain.
Chalet Shalimar sleeps up to twenty guests in ten twin bedrooms, all with en-suite bath and shower rooms and all sumptuously comfortable. Each bedroom can be configured as a double bedroom with single duvets. Perfect for large corporate groups and families the chalet can be taken as a whole or split into an eight person accommodation, Chalet Elena, or a twelve person apartment, Chalet Alex, for smaller groups. When the apartments are split each have their own living spaces and facilities. Chalets Elena and Alex have access to the superb wellness and spa area. The chalet is sold on a catered or self-catered basis.
