We would love to understand their dilemma but I’m afraid that we just can’t quite. Our love of all things ski related runs deep and when the snow falls, there is no question of where you’ll find us. However, we know that during those colder months, families can be divided. Are you Team Alps or Team Tropics? Well let us help sway those keener on warmer climes towards our piece of paradise.
Welcome to Chalet Sagarmata. Perhaps we should tell those that prefer to shed rather than gain layers that we can offer them a twenty-five meter indoor saltwater swimming pool? Also let’s up the anti and gush that when the sun radiates through the striking glass exterior, it can feel positively balmy inside. Just ask your diligent hosting staff for a cocktail or two and we reckon we can pull the cashmere over their eyes. They won’t even realise they are in Verbier.
Chalet Sagarmata has well and truly arrived and it didn’t do so quietly. This is not your ordinary quintessential chalet that wants to pretend it has been nestled into the Savoleyres slopes for decades. This is a chalet of status. One of sharp lines of iridescent glass, sleek edges and contemporary interiors. Perhaps this will help sway the team that prefer their all singing all dancing tropical vacations.
However, this is your favourite week of the year and with bluebird days already primed for action and reservations at your favourite sun-drenched mountain restaurants, between us, we have a good chance of converting them. Let’s start the induction to what is ours and your perfect week by entering Chalet Sagarmata via the chic ski room and entrance hallway. Their subconscious will already be swooning over the latest shiniest kit that your husband generously bought you for Christmas.
Swoop past the wow factor of that pool and continue the gasps of admiration as you head up to the open plan living room. By this point they should be speechless and that is a truly great achievement. As lying ahead of Chalet Sagarmata is range upon range of endless jagged peaks, lined up in all their majesty. With the setting of the sun, it won’t be long until those white summits are bathed in amber. Just remarkable.
We have already got the team at Chalet Sagarmata on board with your powers of persuasion. Before your sister in-law even realises she is thirsty, the staff have acquainted her with a glass of their finest champagne. These really are your favourite days for a reason.
Still, you have a further six glorious days to work your magic on those family members bemused at the mention of corduroy. We recommend continuing the tour of the magnificent seven bedroom Chalet Sagarmata with a jaunt to the East Wing. Here, accessed via a private staircase from the main living room, is the deluxe master suite. Complete with four-poster bed, private balcony, sitting room and sizeable en-suite, if there was ever a place to convert people away from the notion of stuffy wood clad rooms, it is here.
Just like the views, the accommodation at Chalet Sagarmata is seemingly endless. The top floor, sorry, we mean West Wing, is home to a further five bedrooms. Two of these make up the family suite, which alone has a shared living room, kitchenette, fireplace and TV. Moving down to the first floor is yet another bedroom. This is certainly a chalet that wanted to make its generous intentions known.
For those that can tear themselves away from the vistas, the plunge pool and the hammam, your twenty-four hour chauffeur is reassuringly at your beck and call. With the Mayenzet and Savoleyres lift stations both only a three-minute drive away, unpacking and checking the forecast can wait until tomorrow morning. After all, breakfasts were designed for spreading out your piste map alongside your croissant crumbs and surveying your kingdom. It’s almost as if the skilled carpenter behind the gargantuan twenty-four seater oak table was a skier himself.
In hushed tones, between us, we reckon it won’t be long before there will be a few extra people signing up to next year’s annual jolly to the Alps. We like to call that a resounding success. Just like the design of the truly superb Chalet Sagarmata.

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? Full breakfast is served every morning. So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on 5 nights.
The chalet provides beer, house wines, a drinks tray of 3 bottles of house spirits and mixers. Champagne is served with canapés on 5 nights of your stay.
Children & dietary requirements
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children (on 6 nights). You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
