The jet touches down in Sion and you glimpse the white mountaintop’s twinkling before you. As you are driven from the tarmac in your sleek sedan anticipation hangs heavy in the air, as it does each time you arrive in the Alps for your annual skiing fix. Well all right, biannual. And the odd ski-weekend just isn’t the same, definitely doesn’t count.
You’re eager to don your skis and head out for that first exhilarating run. You know you shan’t have to wait long; the team at Chalet No. 14 will have your skis and boots serviced and waiting for you.
A stay at No. 14 should be a passage of rights for all Verbier enthusiasts; you’ve skied Verbier for years and there have been some spectacular chalets in the past; but this is the latest in ultra modern chalet chic. With its doors also open to couples and smaller groups, for weekends and full weeks, you have become a regular visitor- almost one of the family.
This is a particularly special trip, filling all thirteen of the rooms; it is your husband’s 60th birthday celebration – so the master suite with its private cedar wood hot tub on the balcony has your name all over it. Friends and family can arrive through the day and fight each other for the remaining suite and rooms; you’ll already be skiing.
After a glorious, sunny afternoon spent on the south facing slopes you are picked up by Sean, one of your dedicated chauffeurs for the week, and return to No. 14 to be greeted by friends and family who are gathered on the vast Ibiza-style terrace. Some snuggled under the warm furs, where the fire cauldron is aflame, and others taking their first dip in the cedar wood hot tub; the party has clearly started and the Champagne is flowing freely.
This is a stylish party pad and no mistaking, and the army of highly trained staff (16 of them) are there to take care of every detail, to impress with their local expertise, and make you feel every inch the VIP that you are. From the best tables reserved at the Farm club and Chez Danny, to incredible experiences – like the evening you all went husky sledding at dusk, followed by vin chaud and canapés on the snow. This is a special occasion, and a special place to share it with family and friends.
No. 14 gives space to party for sure – the huge terrace, private bar and open plan lounge area are great places to kick up your heels and really let loose. When you need some R&R though intimate spaces are offered too, so you can retreat for some ‘me’ time. Nowhere better than the spa with its heated pool, steam room – and the icy plunge pool to get all your senses tingling.
There are multiple treatment rooms and your own in-house therapists are expert in massages and other rejuvenating tonics – a facial perhaps? Yoga on the deck before breakfast? No trouble, and there is even a stylist to do your hair ready for Harry’s gala birthday dinner. Well you are hosting after all, so you need to look at your best.
All glammed up you see the dining room has been dressed to impress too; dinners at No. 14 are always an event, with the Michelin trained chef impressing with his skill and prowess with the local ingredients. Tonight’s banquet blows you away; chef has prepared an exquisite 7 course tasting banquet incorporating all of Harry’s favourites, with wines expertly selected to match each dish.
Later that evening Sean and his colleagues are lined up ready to chauffeur you into town for cocktails and dancing; no stumbling home for you under the cover of dark, they are there to drive you home again too of course, once you’ve danced till dawn and shown all of the youngsters you’ve still got it.

Chosen by The Telegraph as an ‘Alpine chalet with amazing spa’ – “With 13 en-suite rooms there may well be a queue for the chalet's 10m pool. But then there's always a plunge pool, jacuzzi, steam room and a number of treatment rooms. And, of course, the hot tub on the decked terrace offering panoramic views over the Grand and Petit Combin.”
Listed by Peter Hardy at The Telegraph as one of The Best Alpine Chalets
“One of the largest and most spectacular chalets in Verbier, No. 14 comes with cutting-edge cuisine, over-the-top facilities, and stunning interiors crafted by London-based designer Fiona Barratt.”
“No.14 Verbier manages to be a chalet, a hotel and a home all at once, mixing contemporary design with sleek interior lines. To stay in No.14 is to draw a lucky number, a sacred number."
“The most luxurious chalet in Verbier, perhaps even in the Alps”.

A perfect start to the day
No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. A full English with an unrivalled choice of accompaniments, through to a warming bowl of porridge made to your specification (milk, cream, coconut milk etc.). We can cater for all dietary requirements and the chefs can just as easily rustle up a chia seed raspberry posset as an Eggs Benedict. Bespoke pressed juices with organic herbal ‘boosts’ for energy and detoxing or a freshly ground coffee personally selected for its flavour and smoothness are all part of the mornings in the mountains at No.14.So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
High tea temptations
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
Celebrate with Canapés
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen accompanied by a delicious ‘aperitif of the day’.
Serving up a sensuous feast
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. The chalet usually serves four 'gourmet' dinners of 4 courses and on two nights serves a simpler 2 course 'family dinners'. Dinner is accompanied by a selection of hand-picked wines and is served on six nights of your stay. Coffee and chocolates are served each evening.
Let the good times flow
The chalet provides a fully stocked complimentary bar with premium selection of House Champagnes and wines.
Children & dietary requirements
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
