What happens when a modern South African influence meets the exclusive Swedish quarter of one of Switzerland’s most glamorous ski destinations? The result you ask? Chalet Petiti.
With vaulted ceilings, a fireplace in the master bedroom, natural stone floors and striking pieces of art, this is a beautiful and unique property. Keep your eyes peeled for the hints of South African design that have been tastefully woven into this impressive property.
For the ultimate wow-factor, enter Chalet Petiti on the top floor. You are greeted by the double height living area, with sliding windows of equal proportions leading outside. Nestled into the balcony, the route to your private hot tub is illuminated by a snow-cleared path of candles and Verbier’s starlit sky.
Let’s warm up and head back inside. The large stone fireplace is roaring and the toughest decision of the evening will be to pick your spot for canapés in amongst the ample seating. With friends who you’ve not seen since last season living just up the road, you are sure there is space for a couple more at dinner tonight. After all, you want to show Petiti off to everyone. You don’t mean to brag but hey, you’ve worked hard all year to make this one of the best weeks there can be.
Staring out across the mountain views, you must have missed the knock on the door. It was probably just down to Petiti’s incredibly attentive host knowing Giles and Sarah were arriving before you knew yourself. Perfectly chilled glasses of champagne seem the perfect accompaniment to the squeals of reunited excitement from your wife and Sarah.
With Giles around, pre dinner canapés didn’t last long. Just as well, as you have the guided tour of Petiti to complete before your four-course banquet kicks off. Let’s take the stairs down to the second floor to the three individually decorated ensuite double bedrooms. All with their own colour schemes skillfully intertwined with the sleek modern theme that runs through Petiti. You subtly kick an abandoned pair of yesterday’s ski socks aside, as you lead onto the sundrenched south-facing balcony shared by all three rooms.
Time for the pièce de résistance that is your master suite. Double height vaulted ceiling, walk in wardrobe, that fireplace and a large ensuite. As your wife exclaimed upon arrival, this is your haven of relaxation and peace. The ladies have already moved on and can be found in Petiti’s fabulous in chalet spa. Complete with hammam and treatment room, the hot tub is a safe bet to where you’ll find them after supper.
Continuing downstairs to where your boys are hibernating in the cinema room’s L (for Lounging) shaped sofa. It’s the ideal spot for watching movies after their early children’s supper.
Talking of supper, you hear the chink of wine glasses making their way to the dining table. It sounds like its time to leave the games room and for you to do the same.
Isn’t chalet life bliss.
