La Vigne. Let’s think of this luxury ski chalet, bursting with features, like a wine. Perhaps a Malbec or Cab Sav? We could start with big. Big describes a wine with massive flavour. Perhaps, like La Vigne’s vast open plan living and dining area. Complete with an open fireplace, large plush sofas and sheepskin adorned dining chairs. Just the place to flop after an adrenaline fuelled day on Verbier’s slopes.
Moving onto elegant. An elegant wine will age better and the timeless character of La Vigne is certainly something to be appreciated. You could also never get bored of the unparalleled views of the surrounding peaks from La Vigne’s many terraces and balconies.
If you’re a sommelier, you may want to cover your eyes now. However jammy is certainly something you will feel as the proud guest of La Vigne. At the end of the day, you will be spoilt by the options to unwind. Glide out of the hammam, don your bathrobe and slippers and head outside to the pièce de résistance… your outdoor hot tub. The champagne bottle chilling in the snow combined with those views, might just make stepping out of the bubbles that little bit harder. However, those with energy still left to burn, should take advantage of the floor to ceiling windows in the spa and have a swim with a serious view.
A wine that is rich, smooth and bold is often described as opulent. The Bowers & Wilkins integrated sound system that is fully wired around La Vigne is just one of those latest technological features that makes your stay just that little bit more opulent. Perhaps the ultimate in opulence is exerting yourself in Verbier’s off-piste wonderland and then coming back to your very own cinema room? Snuggle up between the velvety cushions, take hold of your favourite aperitif and indulge in that movie that you just haven’t had time to watch yet.
Don’t forget to admire the wine cave on your way to dinner. Only the finest selection of wine is to be served with La Vigne’s four course evening dinner. Cooked by your very own professional chef, you won’t have to lift a finger.
Finally, a wine that feels generous and full can be described as ample. Whether you have had an ample dose of alpine luxury is another question. However, one thing is for certain. At the end of your stay at La Vigne, you will certainly feel complete and balanced. Ready to face the world again in perfect harmony.
La Vigne has certainly proved its finesse this week.

Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
