On approach to Chalet Rocher, you could be forgiven for mistaking the chalet with a Buddhist Temple, such is the scale and grandeur of the stunning, intricately carved door frame from Afghanistan. The size and scale of the entrance really does set the tone for all that lies beyond in this super chalet that is one of the finest properties in Val d'Isere.
Situated at the top of a private road, assuring privacy and enjoying views of the Isère valley, Le Rocher is one of an elite group of chalets which can justify their claim to being 'the best chalet in the Alps'. Set out over a mind boggling 800 square meters of pure luxury, Chalet Rocher is an extraordinary ski chalet.
As you approach the chalet, its sheer scale is breathtaking and you find yourself in awe of its grandeur, illuminated by dazzling chandeliers hung from the eaves. The heated steps lead guests up into the chalet and the swimming pool can be seen through the panoramic window. Le Rocher, which literally translates as ′the rock′, has been constructed into the mountain side with the natural rock face exposed in the massage room and one of the bathrooms - a spectacular feature.
Le Rocher perfectly balances the look of an impossibly grand, authentic chalet with cutting edge style and innovation. Everything has been thought of to enable you to indulge in the ultimate skiing holiday. The swimming pool has its own projector screen and the steam room is disguised as a tiny chalet. Take the lift to the second floor and you are greeted by the magnificent living area with its vaulted ceiling and fabulously stylish decor.
Cowhide sofas and light shades are complemented by sensational modern glass chandeliers and the crackling log fire is the focal point of the room. Out on the balcony and in front of the imposing 'rock', the red cedar Storvatt Hot Tub is the ideal place to enjoy a glass of champagne while gazing at the stars. The chalet's hosts will mix your drink behind the bar before inviting you to take your seat at the enormous dining table which is fit for a banquet and 14 can be seated in extreme comfort in the black velvet throne style chairs.
Each bedroom is beautifully finished in a rustic Alpine style with reclaimed wood and intricately carved furnishings. Every room has an en-suite bathroom and AV equipment. The master bedroom suite is supremely spacious and offers his and her dressing rooms in addition to luxuriously extravagant en suite facilities.

“In Val d'Isere, Chalet Le Rocher sleeps up to 14 in seven bedrooms and includes an indoor swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, gym and hammam. Despite all that, one of its most attractive features is its immense living area complete with crackling log fire.”
Chosen by The Telegraph as an ‘Alpine chalet with amazing spa’ – “The swimming pool in this 14-person chalet has its own projector screen with sound so you can watch films while you swim, as you do. There is also a steam room “disguised as a tiny chalet”, a solarium, gym and outdoor hot tub.”
“There may be wood panelling and a mountain location but this isn't any old alpine chalet. There isn't a yodel in earshot here; no stripped pine and no checked tablecloths. This is "alpine grand", with chandeliers and designer cowhide chairs. Located in the peaceful area of Les Fermes de Val d'Isere, Le Rocher is a short snow-booted stroll from town and the Bellevarde Express lift.”
