How will you ever keep the whole family happy? The kids insist on a swimming pool; they want to go back to the hotel you stayed at last year. Claire is over dressing for dinner and smiling politely at other guests; she wants the privacy of a chalet to kick back in, but still wants to be in the centre of Val d’Isère. You just want someone else to take charge for a change. That’s until you stumble upon Chalet Pauline; now you’re happy to take all the credit – and the master bedroom too.
You’re now the coolest mum and Auntie, and the best big sister all at once; Chalet Pauline ticks all the boxes. Its own private swimming pool, and sitting in the exclusive Les Fermes area of Val d’Isère. You are just a short stroll into the centre of town; Claire can hit the shops, the boys can pop out for a night cap – “just the one”, and you get to enjoy peaceful surroundings out of earshot of the rest of the Val d’Isère holiday makers, who may have had more than “just the one”.
To look at from the outside Chalet Pauline is part of a pleasingly traditional Alpine Chalet, and this theme continues as you are welcomed inside. Moroccan styled, bright blue pool tiles add a splash of colour, where rustic wood and exposed stone walls characterise the spacious living room, and the open log fire crackles romantically. Glass of champagne in hand and the holiday’s off to a great start.
Now you just need to decide which the Master room is – the top floor room is spacious, and with a south facing balcony looking out across the snow covered valley. The 1st floor room though has it’s own sofa and dressing area. Each bedroom has it’s own style and theme, and the bathrooms are modern with bright spotlights and ‘his and hers’ basins.
The choices don’t end here; Hamam, first, or a dip in the pool? Dinner ‘en famille’, or let the kids have their own dinner party in the smaller dining alcove? What film do you opt for after dinner in the chalet’s cosy TV snug?
These are the decisions great holidays are made of, and as well as spoilt for choice, you will be spoilt rotten by your attentive team of staff at Chalet Pauline. You are just a couple of minute’s walk away from the ski lifts and your ski boots are toasty warm, thanks to the wonderful ski/boot room.
Babysitters will be arranged so that you can hit the world famous bars and clubs of Val D’Isère after dinner – if you can muster the energy after a long and exhilarating day on the slopes. Speaking of long days on the slopes; legs feeling a little sore? Take a massage in the chalet’s own treatment room, you’ll feel like you’ve got new legs the next morning, ready to do it all over again.
If you can ever get the kids out of that pool you’re perfectly positioned to pop into town and try some open-air ice skating under the star lit skies, or to try your hand at ice karting perhaps.
Whether you opt for big family dinners, or keep the children separate, your talented private chef delights in creating beautifully presented dishes that appeal to you all, kicked off by aperitifs around the fire, and accompanied throughout the week by carefully chosen wines.
By the end of your stay you will feel indulged, rejuvenated and truly contented; you backed a winner this year.
