As you raise and draw your bow, feeling and adjusting the tension, you focus on the target, slowly breathing out, and release your arrow. Thud! Bulls eye. Today you’re cast in the role of Robin Hood, prince of thieves; tomorrow who knows? You feel every inch the movie star at Chalet Husky, your epic, glamorous Alpine ski pad for the week. Next up, rifle shooting 101.
Stylish, contemporary and completely unique, Chalet Husky will knock you for six; movie star or not. Surely Val D’Isère’s most unique chalet, where else can you learn to shoot rifles, or practice archery and rock climbing, within your own private ski chalet? Approaching Chalet Husky a large metal sculpture of a fist gives the Shaka sign, and this playful gesture is symptomatic of the whole design and ethos of this magnificent property; relaxed, fun and spirited.
The exterior is striking and modern, with sharp angles and glass sections, but the materials are traditional and sympathetic to the environment with local stone and wood bringing Alpine charm to the mix. The interiors fuel even the most active of imaginations, with a vast internal atrium and garden, which extends up through the floor of the vast open plan living space on the first floor. At one end stylish and contemporary dining table and bar, at the other and reached by a glass walkway is the cosy lounge area. Brown leather sofas, roaring fire and large flat screen TV ensure this is a great space to cosy up with a good book or a classic flick.
Bedrooms are spacious and individually styled, with generous bathrooms and bathtubs lined with candles for relaxing, romantic soaks with a glass of champagne and the lights dimmed. Both artwork and lighting are striking; above the dining table a collection of vintage lampshades is an art installation in itself, and the indoor pool is lit with playful up lighting all the colours of the rainbow.
In addition to the large pool with its infinity waterfall, you are treated to a Jacuzzi, sauna and hammam. Very Hollywood, and you are pampered like the movie star you feel in the treatment room. The fabullous team of staff waits attentively to do your bidding and arrange indulgent massages and facials, even yoga on the terrace before breakfast – your wish is their command.
After a day or two of the sumptuous food prepared for you by your talented private chef you might need to hit the well equipped gym to ensure you retain your film-star figure. If that feels like too much effort you can always tell yourself you’ll ski especially hard tomorrow and really feel the burn. Or speak to the chef about a fresh detox smoothie for breakfast tomorrow, he’ll be happy to oblige. That should do the trick.
Speaking of the skiing, what could be more movie star than having your private ski guide come for breakfast to talk about the plan of attack for the day, to make the most of your precious week in the Alps and squeeze in all the top itineraries – and restaurants naturally. Done. Your chalet chauffeur is on standby to whisk you all to the first lift of the day, and you emerge from your 4x4 vehicle, big sunglasses donned, and your skis unloaded for you by the driver who carries them to the snow for you, ready to click in and go. Boots are toasty warm from Husky’s boot warmers; just about the best start to a ski day imaginable.
Along with top days on the mountain and indulgent evenings back at Chalet Husky you are well placed for a few evenings sampling the cocktails and music in Val D’Isère’s glamorous bars and clubs. Your wonderful chalet manager will see that the best tables are reserved – you feel every inch the VIP. Pick up a fur hat or a gilet or two from one of the stylish boutiques in town to ensure you look the part, too.
Chalet Husky is fun, stylish and truly unique – just like you.

"An absolutely stunning chalet with an incredible pool. Certainly the best chalet we've ever stayed in"
“No sign of red gingham, cut-out hearts and retro skis at the new Chalet Husky in Val d’Isère. Glass floors, walls, ceilings and chairs lend modern glamour; a clump of vintage lampshades hang over the dining table; a palm tree grows through the atrium … And get this: there’s a rock-climbing wall in the basement, a neon-lit multi-coloured swimming pool, a wellness centre with massage rooms, hammam and sauna, and even an archery and rifle shooting range. And to think we would have been happy with a Monopoly set!”
“A climbing wall that doubles up as a shooting range, a waterfall that cascades into a glass-walled swimming pool and an indoor garden. Goodness, Chalet Husky sure knows how to do grand. You might not even make it onto the slopes.”
“Chalet Husky comes complete with indoor climbing wall and rifle shooting/archery range. The chalet is a triumph of contemporary design coupled with traditional chalet elements, which fuse to form this spectacular property. Upon entering, you can walk across a glass walkway suspended over the indoor atrium garden. Quirky and interesting Objects d’arte punctuate every corner of the property and spa facilities also include a swimming pool, sauna and Hamm am Turkish bath.”
Against a backdrop of raw reclaimed wood, the large 7-bedroom accommodation has been playfully designed, creating the overall feeling that this could be the ski pad of a dotcom billionaire. It boasts an indoor lap and wave pool with spa, Jacuzzi, steam and sauna; and an activity area with climbing wall, archery and laser shooting. The dining and living area are joined by a glass walkway that overlooks a green atrium besides which I am lucky enough to have been granted the master bedroom. The large suite pays more than a little homage to the seventies with goatskin throws and a sofa embroidered with the classic Beatles illustration. There is so much attention to detail in the accessories;bedside tables that look like vintage radios, and a range of Cowshed vanity products in the enormous bathroom. Best of all, the master suite has a direct access to the spa perfect for those spontaneous late night steams.
Unveiled last season, Chalet Husky is the epitome of contemporary alpine living. Not only does it have its own 'wellness area' with a large pool complete with infinity waterfall, sauna and jacuzzi, it also has a state of the art games room. But this is no ordinary table tennis games room. Oh no, Chalet Husky's boasts a climbing wall, archery and rifle shooting in case you're bored after a day's skiing. Sleeping 14 guests across seven ensuites, this property is filled with quirky artefacts and objet d'art. A real show-off chalet.

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on six nights leaving you one night free to sample Meribel's restaurants.

The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children including on the chef night off. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
