You’ve wound your way up the valley from Bourg St Maurice, the cold grey waters of Lac du Chevril make you shiver but you’re on the home straight. Just a few more minutes and your chauffeur will have swept you up the drive and into the warming embrace of Chalet Calistoga.
Time to switch off. Time to forgot the week you’ve just had at work. Your ears prick at the pop of a cork, “a glass of Perrier Jouët madam?”. Yes, this really is going to be the holiday of the year.
Completely renovated in 2016, it’s just the place for 10 snow lovers to celebrate with their nearest and dearest. With every bedroom being en-suite, there will be no morning queues for applying the factor 30 and lip balm. Why not continue the theme on your way to the slopes? With Val d’Isere having no fewer than eight mountain access points, just ask your chauffeur for his recommendations on which lift will whizz you up quickly to the main event… 300km of slopes and 20kms of ski routes at your finger tips in the Espace Killy - one of the largest ski areas in France.
What a first day on the slopes. The beaming smiles say it all. The men in your party decide to have a race to après down Le Face whilst the more civilized in your group can hear Calistoga calling.
Fast forward out of the boot room, where kids’ ski boots, helmets and gloves are strewn. They’re off. Most likely headed to the snug complete with Sky and Apple TV or down to the lower floor games room.
For you, thermals off, cashmere on. You know where you and your previously neglected book are heading – the corner of that sofa, in amongst the plumped up cushions, in front of the crackling fire. The other ladies have either retired to the large indoor swimming pool, sauna or massage room. There’s always tomorrow.
For now, you’re blissfully content in your double height living space, looking out across the valley from floor to ceiling windows. You can hear the clinking of a canapé platter and that familiar “pop” that accompanies such delicacies.
You’ve found peace.

“Shiny and new to the chalet scene this season, Calistoga is tucked away in the tranquil Du Cret enclave, but handily only a five-minute drive from the Val hubbub and lifts. A team of four will look after your every whim while you wallow in the indoor pool or curl up in the snug. Most importantly, champagne is served throughout the day at no extra cost. Hurray!"
“Located in the Du Cret area of Val d’Isere, Chalet Calistoga sleeps 10 guests in five en-suite bedrooms, with the charm of a traditional chalet featured in exposed stone and brick walls, timber beams, a large open fire place and cosy fittings.
The open plan living area enjoys panoramic views down the valley, with an adjoining den for watching films and television together. On the lower floor there is a children's games room, a private indoor pool, a sauna and a treatment room."

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? On the chef's day-off a continental breakfast is provided. So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is accompanied by carefully selected house wines and is served on 5 nights leaving you free to explore the local restaurants on two evenings.
The chalet provides house wines, X3 bottles of standard spirits and a selection of soft drinks & juices. There is a Champagne reception on one night of your stay. Wine upgrades are possible - payable locally.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
