As your friends in high places, we understand that only the finest wants and desires will do for you. Therefore let us make all those hours of scrunching your brow and wishing hard come true. Luxury, opulence and convenience are yours at Chalet La Varappe for your favourite days of the year. We aim to please.
You may have just stepped foot into Chalet La Varappe but we want to take you to the sumptuous sitting room first. I know it’ll be tough but no peeking on the way please. We want you to see the life of luxury that you will be living for the next blissfully opulent seven nights. You have always wanted to sweep through your very own quintessential Alpine chalet, long coat flowing, into your incredible entertaining area. Complete with striking stone fireplace, exquisite artwork, intriguing antiques and bookshelves laden with intellectual reading material. For this week, excess is all yours.
We know that you prefer your luxury and opulence with a sense of history and we promised you that in the interior wooden cladding load. You see, Chalet La Varappe is no ordinary exclusive luxury chalet. Chalet La Varappe was originally built by a certain Mr Pomagalski. Now, we can see the bemused look of familiarity, after all we all recognise that name from somewhere. That somewhere is your daily foray of Les Trois Vallées and use of the world-leading Poma lifts.
We are also great fans of the finest craftsmen who turned the wood cleared from building the Meribel lift system into Chalet La Varappe. In only the highest of riches, is it possible to see the capacity for human imagination and skill. There is no finer showroom for such skill than Chalet La Varappe’s floor upon floor of private home luxury. Lavish furnishings adorned with fur, spacious terraces and indulgent relaxation areas for the whole clan. Desire is what you strive for and what pushes you through those hours of international strategy meetings. Grown-up but just as welcoming, Chalet La Varappe knows that correct balance for your favourite week.
We also know that the right balance for your weary ski limbs is the comforting luxury of a bathrobe complete with glass of champagne in hand. Step out of the steam room and make your way up to the inviting outdoor hot tub to soak in those outstanding views. You have well and truly found peace and we know it won’t be long until you are drifting miles away. Although not too far please, as we are rather proud of Chalet La Varappe’s enviable location in the centre of Meribel.
Later, as you head upstairs to get ready for dinner, you can’t help but feel supremely appreciated each time you step foot into your vaulted bedroom. It was unenviably challenging having to pick which out of the five indulgent bedrooms your luggage was to be placed in. With obligatory glass of champagne in hand, pull up a seat on your private balcony and indulge in that little luxury we like to call time. You can be as indulgent with your time as the designers were with the fabrics in your super king room. A magnificently inviting cloud of a bed, the most sumptuous of velvet sofas and an ambience that cannot be created recharges your soul.
The theme of opulence continues downstairs at dinner. It is only during your favourite week of the year that you can sit down with ten of your closest companions and indulge in the culinary standards of a top quality restaurant all in the comfort of your own luxury chalet. Ssh we won’t tell the others that earlier you tucked a pair of slippers under your chair at the dining table. Match the magnificence of the chef’s talents with the finest handpicked wines, paired to compliment each course perfectly. After all, is there any better way to finish another utterly memorable day on the slopes?
As petits fours arrive, it is time for us to bid you goodnight and leave you to savour another unhurried evening in your exceptional chalet.

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on six nights leaving you one night free to sample Meribel's restaurants.
The chalet provides an open bar of beer, wines, spirits and mixers. The chalet serves unlimited Veuve Cliquot or Tattinger Champagne.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children including on the chef night off. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
