You have given the quintessential Alpine chalet a good chance but you’re sorry to say that that chocolate box theme just isn’t for you. You’re secretly reassured and comforted by the promise of an apartment in the Alps that counts Urban in its name.
Despite this, we would be failing as your friends in high places if we didn’t give you a certain reprieve from the daily grind. We promised that this would be your favourite week and for this, get set to count down the days until that out of office can satisfyingly be switched on. Goodbye London, hello Les Gets.
Welcome to Urban Corniche. The most Urban that this apartment can claim to be is its location in the heart of Les Gets, which we all know is a far cry from the metropolis you have just escaped from. However, we know that you like your ski holiday with atmosphere and the thought of completely stopping terrifies you. Be reassured that Urban Corniche has a selection of great après bars on your doorstep along with the convenience of a local supermarket. You were offered a rather delicious sounding evening meal delivery service, however with your hectic lifestyle in London, you just aren’t accustomed to planning ahead. The same applies to the slopes of the Portes du Soleil. You just don’t know where your lazy late Savoyard lunch will take you. When the chill of the January air bites, it’s rather gratifying knowing that the evening can continue on arrival home to Urban Corniche.
This stunning, fully serviced penthouse boasts a rather enviable entertaining space, home to a bar, pool table, piano, music system and wine cellar. What more could you desire to carry you through those magical hours from when the ski boots are loosened to when baselayers get swapped for dressing gown and slippers. Nothing can beat the late evening unwind in the sauna and hot tub on Urban Corniche’s large private balcony. Although your friends might have disregarded the evening meal delivery service, the question of what would you like your cellar stocked with got a slightly more favourable response. These really are your favourite days of the year.
Although Urban Corniche can sleep up to eleven people, you are grateful for your slightly reduced numbers, enabling you to keep the cinema room as just that. It’s rather reassuring though knowing that if your brother and his wife can join you next year, the cinema can be converted into a further king size bedroom. However, for now, the stylish luxe of the three super king or twin bedrooms and the full size bunks, accommodating the three late comers to the party, will more than suffice.
With the pistes just a short walk away and with sensational views of the surrounding valleys and pistes, this is certainly a self-catering apartment that delivers all and more of what it promises. With tomorrow’s exclusive and private ski-transfer service to Ardent or Prodain, you can’t wait to see what else the majesty of the Portes du Soleil has to offer you.
For now, it is time for us to bid you bonne soirée and leave you in the company of that rather magnificient wine cellar.
