Winding up through Courchevel 1850 at each bend in the road you pass designer boutiques and lavish jewellers; window displays glisten and twinkle as though mimicking the snow covered pistes behind. You climb higher still, towards those enticing white slopes, before drawing up at the solid black gates of the exclusive Bellecote hamlet. Chalet Edelweiss is the shining jewel in Courchevel’s crown, and here you have truly arrived.
The gates part seamlessly in greeting and you glide onwards to be welcomed to what is surely the grandest chalet Courchevel has to offer; no mean feat in a resort world-renowned for its prime ski real estate. As you enter the sheer size and scale of Chalet Edelweiss becomes apparent; she is unique in her stately opulence. Meanwhile your limousine, pride and joy, has begun its journey in the car lift, down into the depths of Chalet Edelweiss to be safely cocooned in its vast underground garage.
With a chalet so endless where should you start? Exploring is a journey of discovery, new gems to be found at every turn that will take you through the week, and longer if you can afford the time. Treasures peek out from their gleaming glass cabinets; an eclectic mix of modern and classical artwork embellishes the chalet from paintings adorning the vast walls to sculptures lining the opulent corridors. When you sit back on one of the elegant sofas with a glass of chilled champagne, logs crackling in the theatrical open fireplace, you know the holiday has truly begun.
The generous spaces of this magnificent Alpine palace spill from a central staircase, dramatically carving through Edelweiss’ 7 expansive floors. The sight from the top floor through this central well is quite a thing to behold; that is if you have a head for heights. If not there is the lift of course, to save your ski legs any un-necessary additional strain.
The two master suites are un-surprisingly generous at 100m2 and boasting extravagant sofas and dressing rooms, elegant, marble tiled bathrooms with romantic ‘slipper’ baths and his & hers basins. At the foot of the baths you will find clever discreet mirror TV’s, and in your dressing room a safe for your precious items.
This extravagance continues through every element of Edelweiss; from the spa with its colossal swimming pool adorned with lion busts spouting water and a vast marble waterfall, to the incredible party room. Your own bar - Martini anyone? Shaken not stirred of course, followed by a game of pool perhaps, or arrange for a world-famous DJ to play for you from the podium as your guests dance the night away on your private dance floor; your own private nightclub in fact. Nothing is too much trouble for the concierge service at Chalet Edelweiss. For a more relaxed soirée you can arrange a viewing of the latest movie in your own sumptuous cinema, or just have a relaxed night curled up in the TV den.
When you’re ready to hit the slopes you do so in ultimate style; your ski butler prepares your equipment; skis perfectly tuned and boots warmed and eased on to your feet as you sit in the grand ski room which opens up directly on to the Bellecote piste. The glamour and scope of Edelweiss is perfectly matched by that of the Trois Vallées ski resort in which it sits, proudly in pole position for you to explore one of the world’s finest ski resorts at your leisure.
Your private chauffeur will always be at hand to drive you around the resort; be it collecting you from one of Courchevel’s many glamorous après bars, or to take you for lunch at one of the Michelin star restaurants should you decide to give your skis a rest. The army of staff at Edelweiss works seamlessly with your own team, and move with quiet discretion to take care of your every need and desire.
No detail is too small, and your Michelin standard private chef and his assistants provide delicate, intricate cuisine; feasts for the eyes and the taste buds. Should you prefer a more rustic French fayre and home comforts, whatever it is that you crave will be their absolute pleasure. Edelweiss is a temple to fun and extravagance so revel in it's splendour, and worship in the glory of your surroundings; this is a ski chalet like no other.

“The most anticipated new chalet this year, Chalet Edelweiss’s size – 3,000 square metres over seven floors – will make it the biggest in the French Alps. It sleeps 16 guests in eight bedrooms, with the rest of the space given over to a private nightclub, bar, cinema, wine cellar, pool and spa with hammam. As you’d expect, it isn’t cheap, but this much luxury never is.”
Voted in Top 15 Most Wonderful Chalets in Courchevel by Luxury Design
“When it launched last year, Chalet Edelweiss set a new benchmark for luxury chalets in Courchevel. The seven-storey timber and stone chalet centres around a spiral staircase that drills deep into the mountain to a colossal spa. The chalet’s British hedge-fund-manager owner is a self-confessed compulsive art buyer and the results of his addiction (Dalí, Miró and Picasso among them) litter the eight bedrooms, multiple dining and living areas, nightclub and bar.”

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served in the chalet for 6 nights, leaving you one night to experience the fantastic restauarants in Courchevel.
The chalet provides an open bar of beer, wines, spirits and mixers.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
