Jutting out across Verbier’s tundra, surveying the Petit and Grand Combin mountain ranges and the twinkle of skiing civilisation below, is Chalet Toundra. Your mission for the week, should you choose to accept it, is to embrace luxury.
Gather yourself and seven of your closest skiing allies to share in a week of adventure and sophistication. Uninterrupted views transport you from the wood-burning fireplace to the pistes of Switzerland’s largest ski area. The 4 Valleys are your playground for the week. Time for action.
Within striking distance of the Savoleyres lift, you are in the luxurious position of being able to pick and choose your mission for the day. You are about to be spoilt with 43% of pistes classified as easy, 29% as intermediate and 28% saved for those advanced days. Just ask your ski instructor, complimentary for two days, to familiarise you with your vast territory for the week.
Maybe not readily admitted, but ask any secret agent and even their weary ski legs need recharging. After all, everyone is entitled to holiday. Why not treat yourself to an in-chalet massage and then resume yesterday’s position in your outdoor hammock? Ask for a glass of something to recharge you. Shaken not stirred, please.
When the sun dips, signalling another day is drawing near, retire to your gentleman’s leather club chair by the fire. Canapés sir? It’s time to let someone else take charge tonight, cue your personal chef and expert host. Your nearest and dearest need to reconvene over tonight’s four courses. Time to regale your closest comrades with accounts of today’s exploits and set the brief for tomorrow’s final day on the mountain.
One more reconnaissance from Mont Fort before tonight’s stealth exit. Your bags packed and ready, you bid farewell to Chalet Toundra as your helicopter awaits.
