“Blistering barnacles Tintin, at last we have found Snowy’s winter lair!” But who would have thought it would be in the exclusive ski resort of Verbier? Now here is a dog with a taste for the high life and ‘jumping jellyfish’ he has picked a right corker.
Chalet Milou (or Chalet Snowy to Hergé English readers) is a lovely chalet in the Clambin area of Verbier. This stand-alone chalet was originally two chalets, that have now been combined to make a spacious and very comfortable place to spend a wonderful holiday. The chalet has been built in a traditional style using reclaimed old wood giving it a wonderful rustic feel but with the benefit of modern amenities.
Chalet Milou has a long balcony that runs the length of the chalet and has private garden where you’ll find the hot tub has been carefully positioned so that it is very private but takes advantage of the stunning views. One of the highlights of the chalet is the lovely main open plan living/dining room, which is beautifully light and full of comfortable seating and big floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the views. In addition there is a mezzanine TV corner and a second sitting room so there is plenty of space in which to relax, watch TV, read a book or take a little post-ski snooze undisturbed by the rest of the party.
It’s ideal position, just above the Médran, lift provides beautiful views of the mountains and it is virtually a ski-in / ski-out chalet. It’s in on Chemin de Clambin, which means that you can ski back to the door after a day skiing and it’s a 2 minute walk to join the piste just above Médran in the morning.
The owners are avid fans of Tintin and you’ll find little homages and mementos to him and the other characters all over the chalet. This is a perfect winter hideaway and as Tintin himself might have said “Blistering Blue Buzzards! Well done Snowy!”

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
