If you want the best of the best in the Alps.... then go to Chardon Mountain Lodges! I have now stayed in all of the chalets... everyone are superb! The staff, the facilities.. the food - WOW! If you want the 'Best of the Best' then you can only come here! I've been going to the Alps for 30 years and nowhere comes close in comparison!!
We stayed in Le Chardon's "Mistral" chalet in February: this season Le Chardon aced a home run with Klaus - the chalet manager everybody should wish they had! Mistral is gorgeous - and we've been before: the new layout and additions to the chalet have really opened it up: it feels much more spacious, particularly in the lounge area. Le Chardon make a lot of effort in recruitment - this is clear from the guys they have in the chalets: happy is *not* the word, and it's not an act in any way - you can hear Klaus and the guys laughing and enjoying themselves before you get to dinner!
You can't go wrong with Le Chardon - their enclave is beautiful, you can ski back in from Solaise and if you choose, the on-call vans will take you down and pick you up from anywhere.

No need to rush out of bed - tea or coffer will be brought to your room. Then to breakfast - a healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on 6 nights giving you one night to explore and experience the wonderful local restaurants.
The chalet provides an open bar of beer, carefully selected house wines, spirits and mixers.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
