Situated in a private enclave and resting elegantly on the side of the Solaise Mountain, Chalet Lafitenia is a beautifully traditional alpine chalet that oozes character and traditional luxury charm. Boasting 2 outdoor hot-tubs, breathtaking views and ski-in, ski-out access it is easy to see why Chalet Lafitenia is considered one of the finest luxury properties in Val d’Isere. Combining luxury and comfort with traditional touches and warm furnishings, the chalet is a cosy haven ideal for families and adult groups alike.
A recent visit from Harper's Bazaar described Chalet Lafitenia as "Alpine-luxe meets the Scottish Highlands". All 6 bedrooms have newly renovated ensuite bath or shower rooms, and the majority, access to the private terrace or balcony. The large south facing picture windows give most of the rooms a light and airy feel, which complements the sumptuous fabrics and comfy homeliness that is characteristic of this chalet. There are 2 smaller bedrooms in the chalet that can be rented for reduced rates when the chalet is offered on a shared chalet basis.
After an exhilarating day on the slopes of the legendary Espace Killy ski region you can either ski back or be collected by your private chauffeur and driven back for a delicious afternoon tea. Choose to relax in one of the two private hot tubs with a glass of champagne or treat yourself to a full body massage organised by your private concierge. Alternatively you may choose to curl up in front of the open log fire with a glass of red.
Chalet Lafitenia also boasts service levels of the highest standard and catering to impress even the harshest of food critic. Each night guests enjoy a five course culinary experience from the chalet’s talented private chef, served in the dining room overlooking the glorious Manchet Valley.

Spent the opening week of the ski season here in the Lafitenia chalet. It really was an upmarket experience with excellent accommodation and superb service. The chalet itself is on the perimeter of Val d'Isere but has good lift access and virtually ski in. But that shouldn't bother you as the navette / transport offered by the chalet serves the whole resort on call. The catering was top quality with the chef Paul open to suggestions and serving a range of well balanced meals across the 4 days we were there.
Overall I can only say that it was a 5 star experience.
"The door opened to reveal not only our wonderful smiling hosts, but the glowing, heated delights of the chalet within. Lafitenia is a mix of Alpine luxe and Scottish Highlands: a quick tour revealed a grand sitting and dining area with a full-aspect window, dominated by a jaw-dropping snowy mountainside view up the Manchet valley, and a tartan-clad interior. The six bedrooms (it sleeps 12) are all well-proportioned. Mine had the same killer view as the sitting area (I also spied an exterior hot-tub, which our host informed me was après-ski friendly), as well as a supply of L’Occitane products in the en-suite bathroom."

No need to rush out of bed - tea or coffer will be brought to your room. Then to breakfast - a healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on 6 nights giving you one night to explore and experience the wonderful local restaurants.
The chalet provides an open bar of beer, carefully selected house wines, spirits and mixers.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
