This, then, is your lucky day as you pull up outside Chalet Elephant Blanc, beautifully crafted from local wood and stone, and standing proudly upon the world-class ski slopes of Val d’Isère. As you step out of your chauffeur driven minivan, and your luggage is smuggled inside, you breath in your first lungful of the crisp Alpine air and take stock of your surroundings. The snow sparkles; a carpet of tiny crystals winking their welcome as you step towards the chalet.
You see a couple of nearby properties share your privileged location on the edge of the Solaise piste, but you are far from overlooked. Chalet Elephant Blanc stands in its own plot surrounded by snow covered pastureland, three imposing stone columns face down the mountainside, a statement of intent from the architect; this property is self assured, confident, but inside too warm, homely, to be considered arrogant. It moulds to each new visitor, inviting you to spend your precious holiday time within its solid and comforting walls.
After crossing the threshold, you see a softer side to the chalet, with light, natural woods and cream walls, cushioned carpets and comfortable sofas. In the cosy sitting room area a fire is ablaze in the traditional stone fireplace that dominates this room. A glass of chilled Perrier Jouet is proffered and you sink back into the vintage leather armchair, and admire the views across the valley from the big picture windows.
The double-height ceiling gives the room a vast, airy ambiance, with light flooding in from all sides. The elegant vases filled with fresh flowers give a light fragrance to the air, complimenting the traditional Alpine style of the chalet.
What sings loudest is the outstanding service you receive from the team of discreet, professional staff. Everything is from the top drawer; from the daily breakfast banquets your chef produces to kick off a busy day cavorting on the slopes, to the personalised stretching sessions arranged for your return. The therapeutic treatments do not end here; follow it up with long soaks in the hot tub, tucked under the eves of one of the chalet balconies.
The raw mountain air is refreshing and you experience the sights and sounds of the resort from your private and sheltered vantage point on top of the world. Next, head to your own wellness centre on the ground floor to alternate between steam room and sauna, before drifting off during a heavenly massage in the comfort of your private massage room.
Every need is taken care of for you here; a separate TV snug is ideal for chilling out on big, comfy sofas – catching up on the news or perhaps a film (your chalet host will bring the popcorn). If you’re looking for an escape; a break from the digital world, the sitting room and that roaring log fire is all yours; sit back with a good book and a glass of Bordeaux. Dinners are lingered over, savouring each delicious morsel prepared just for you.
Holiday time is precious, and not a second is wasted here. Your ski boots are warmed, ready to catch that first lift; you are helped into them, your skis laid out on the piste just steps from your door. At the end of the day you can ski back into the boot room, or party Ibiza style at La Folie Douce – your chauffeur will meet you in La Daille and escort you home in comfort and style. You are just 3 minutes by chauffeur-driven car to the shops and glamorous bars of Val D’Isère and yet you feel a million miles from the bustle of the town up in the heights at Chalet Elephant Blanc.

No need to rush out of bed - tea or coffee will be brought to you. Then on to breakfast - a healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? Full breakfast is served daily. So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on 6 nights giving you chance to explore and experience local restaurants.
The chalet provides an open bar of beer, carefully selected chateau bottled wines, spirits and mixers. The chalet can offer an a la carte wine list if you would like to upgrade. Perrier Jouet Champagne is available at all times.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
