As you ride the twists and turns of the mountain road each hairpin bend gives new picture postcard views across the snow-covered Alps. A number of cars are snaking their way up the mountain pass; in fact some alarmingly large coaches climb it too. Reaching a fork in the road the other traffic continue to climb as you spilt right, alone now, following a narrower, less travelled road. Signposts announce your arrival in St Martin de Belleville; the best kept secret in Les Trois Vallées.
If this tiny, Savoyard village is the jewel in the Trois Vallées’ ornate crown, then Chalet Floralie is surely the twinkle that catches your eye. Both chalet and location are stunners, and will take your breath away. The scale of this charming chalet is incredible; taken with the penthouse suite 18 guests can stay, but the spaces are intimate and cosy. You’re looking for a retreat, a place to steal precious moments together, and with your family, to pass the time in pure pleasure, no cares in this Alpine world – and Chalet Floralie ticks all the boxes.
With young children in ski school location makes or breaks your annual family ski trip, and here you have cunningly positioned yourself in the centre of the enormous Trois Vallées ski domain, in a chalet just a one-minute walk from the lifts. Perfect for those days when you forget your sunglasses/sun cream/ piste map.
You are free to explore the skiing from Courchevel to Val Thorens, knowing you are never too far from St Martin if one of the little ones should need your attention. St Martin itself though is home to some of the most famous ski runs in les Trois Vallées, and it’s all right on your doorstep; Jerusalem the perennial favourite, but Pramint runs a close second.
From the outside Floralie is unassuming; a classically built, solid, stone and wood structure – a large Alpine chalet. Inside it’s another matter; dark vintage wood and soft furnishings in chocolates and gold; lavish and glamorous, her personality seeps out of every wooden beam, from every polished tile.
Here you can spread your wings; explore, each finding your own treasured space in this magnificent building, your home from home in the mountains. There is not just one fireplace to curl up in front of with a good book, but three – plus a library from which to choose the book. The TV snug and games room is just what the kids need; space of their own to play and have fun, and all without disturbing your reading. The table football is a real winner and throughout the week the competition is fierce. You had to let Dad win in the end though, it’s a matter of pride and anyway, he’s a terrible loser.
Close by, yet out of earshot, sits the chalet’s fabulous spa suite; all spotlights and dark grey slate bar the gold-tiled feature wall which sparkles, with a large Jacuzzi bubbling away invitingly. This is the grown-up’s play room; what could be nicer after a day on the slopes than soaking in the hot tub, followed by a turn in the sauna?
If you want to really indulge (and let’s face it – what else are holidays for?), then your attentive chalet host can arrange massages here too, so you need not leave the chalet. Heavenly, you’ll just need to rouse from your blissful reverie in time for dinner. This too impresses; with the children all catered for in an earlier sitting you are free to relax over the meal your private chef has thoughtfully prepared, with several glasses of excellent house wine.
Though a small and quaint village, skiers travel here from across the Trois Vallées for the fantastic mountain restaurants. You’re a foodie family, and this drew you here too – a table is reserved for you at 3 Michelin star La Bouitte, but shhh – don’t tell the children, the nannies can whip something up for them, this is grown-up’s only.

"The Chalet Floralie has been beautifully thought out. No space is wasted, with every area a little oasis of calm, great design and comfort. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional, where nothing is too much trouble. We ate royally, with every meal a mouth-watering delight. Our location could not have been more convenient for skiis, coffees or the start of the piste."
"I loved this chalet for is cool contemporary interiors, its convenience for the slopes (its yards away from the piste) and the warmth and efficiency of its wonderful team. Especially loved the little touches like the mini spa and a well-stocked library that make a ski holiday and more rounded experience."
"Just returned from a fantastic week at Floralie. What an amazing chalet, luxury in every sense. Beautifully designed & decorated. Sleek bathrooms, comfortable beds, delicious food and attentive & very helpful staff. Great location and the perfect place to come back to after a hard day on the slopes. Faultless!"
Chalet Floralie featured in Condé Nast Traveller 10 Great Ski Chalets
In a plum location just two minutes from the lifts, with luxuriously stylish accommodation, delicious food and relaxed but efficient service, Chalet Floralie has it all. The perfect chalet for a big extended family or couple of families, it sleeps 14 but can accommodate as many as 18 including the penthouse upstairs. Lots of sink-into sofas please the grown-ups, while there are plenty of nooks and crannies for children to hide in, and a sociable bench-style dining area, which is ideal for large, noisy gatherings. Bedrooms are luxurious, complete with the crispest bedlinen, soft lighting and glamorous, chrome and stone bathrooms. All this with the Trois Vallées just on your doorstep.
Little known, St Martin is actually the prettiest village in the Trois Vallées. It's also now the location of one of the most design-savvy chalets. Smack-bang next to the lift, Floralie is owned by John Ayton and Annoushka Ducas, founders of Links of London and Annoushka jewellery. The enormous central hub has stacks of different living areas all in one, but it's the futuristic spa, jet black and almost cave-like, that makes it really snazzy. The best spot for a quieter retreat away from the endless braying teens.
Pick of the bunch is Floralie, a vast and beautifully finished chalet, 50m from the base of the lift and right in the heart of St Martin. Far from the glitz of Courchevel and the boisterous Brits of Meribel, St Martin is actually the prettiest village in the Trois Vallées and home to some of the ski area's best restaurants. Floralie is owned and operated by John Ayton and Annoushka Ducas, founders of Links of London and Annoushka jewellery, and the design is as tasteful an imaginative as you would expect.

No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Carefully selected house wines accompany the meal and dinner is served on six nights, leaving one night to explore the extraordinary restaurants of St Martin.
There is a champagne reception on the day of your arrival and the chalet offers complimentary soft drinks.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
