Seeking peace, quiet and a truly relaxing holiday away from the crowds? Do you love finding the hidden gems, especially in some of the most popular ski destinations? A unique retreat, a well-kept secret, something for those with only the most discerning eye? If so, Chamois Lodge and St Martin de Belleville may just be an unbeatable combination; the answer to your ski holiday dreams.
The quaint village of St Martin nestles in the very heart of the Trois Vallées, and this little ski town is all about heart. The cobbled streets and rustic Savoyard architecture is picture-postcard perfect; if you’ve always had the image of that pretty little Alpine village in mind, surrounded by snow covered pastures and spikey mountain peaks, the chances are this is it.
Chamois Lodge is not flashy, it won’t shout out at you from afar, but if you like your luxury on the quiet, refined side of the spectrum, then you will fall in love with this chalet. Created with your pleasure and needs in mind, it combines the best of creature comforts and contemporary alpine style. Built using traditional, local materials, decorated in beautiful muted shades and furnished with lots of natural fabrics; linen, wool and fur, Chalet Chamois Lodge exudes elegance and comfort. This is a place to truly relax and unwind, and enjoy a fabulous ski holiday.
The mountain views across the Belleville valley are stunning, but what really sets this chalet apart is the attention to detail and its beautifully designed living space. As you work your way up to the open plan living and dining room, located on the top floor to make the most of those jaw-dropping views, the log fire crackles away. Inviting sofas and warm throws encourage you to settle in, lose yourself in a book, enjoy listening to music or just chat about the day over a delicious chilled glass of Chablis.
The bedrooms are spacious with divinely comfortable beds and dramatic over-sized mirrors; the bathrooms are large and contemporary with beautiful toiletries, fluffy towels and dressing gowns. Chamois Lodge has clearly been lovingly created; the owners are passionate about their village and properties and this is felt in every room and every experience.
Helen and Chris live in the gorgeous hamlet of Villarabout where Chamois lodge is tucked away into the hillside, and their personal care, attention and expertise is what defines your stay here. Nothing is too much trouble as they guide you through your sojourn in this special corner of the Alps making sure you experience the best that the valley has to offer; from restaurants to local produce and of course the main event; the skiing.
Your personal chauffeur is on stand-by with 4X4 Land Rovers to take you to the slopes just minutes from the door, and to pick you up after a fabulous day’s skiing so you never have to rush and you really make the most of your time here. After a big day exploring the far – reaching corners of les trois vallées, and sampling the local après, sooth your aching ski legs in the outdoor hot tub with its uninterrupted views of the snow-capped mountains; bliss.
The chalet’s perfectly pitched décor is matched by the attentive service and delicious food. There is an emphasis on using fresh, local produce and little touches such as homemade jams and breakfast granola will make this a really special experience. Your talented private chef will create a menu designed to your specific tastes so you are in complete control – but don’t worry someone else gets to do the washing up! Sit back with a glass of wine and watch as delicious treats are created and you may just get the recipe to take home as a little souvenir of your time at Chamois Lodge.
Big may be beautiful, but small is special and a holiday at Chamois Lodge gives you the best of both. Skiing in the largest ski area in the world, but from the very charming, small village of St Martin. Now that is what is called the perfect combination.

"The food was phenomenal, the attention to detail throughout the chalet was 5* and yet still homely. Helen, Graham, Rosie and Dan all contributed to an absolutely incredible week. We returned home feeling relaxed and spoilt. We wouldn't hesitate to return."
"This truly is a top luxury chalet and experience comparable to staying in a chalet in Meribel or Courchevel. But with half the price tag."
"Our chef and chalet host were fabulous. The food was incredible - easily as good as many of the top Michelin star restaurants. We felt privileged to be looked after by such a kind, thoughtful and friendly couple."
“St Martin is in the Three Valleys ski area but because it's not slap bang in the centre of Méribel, you'll find incredibly reasonable prices for really quite outstanding accommodation while still being able to ski 600km of piste. Guests at Chamois Lodge get kingsize beds, six-course meals, handmade furniture, deeply lavish soft furnishings, British plug sockets and an in-resort chauffeur.”
“The décor throughout is contemporary-mountain chic, featuring a witty combination of modern furnishings and reclaimed old pieces. There are cow skin rugs, fur throws, sheepskins and atmospheric mountain canvases plus old reclaimed timber, handpicked antiques and designer pieces. Helen oversaw the look and was inspired by British interior designer Kelly Hoppen’s signature colour palette of calming taupes and beiges to create a soft, relaxed feel.”

No need to rush out of bed - an early morning tea can be brought to your room. Then on to breakfast - a healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is accompanied by carefully paired wines and is served on six nights of your stay.
The chalet provides complimentary beer, house wines and soft drinks. There is a champagne reception on the evening of your arrival.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
