You’re approaching the resort in your luxury chauffeur-driven minivan, in the shadow of the Olympic gondola. You see her stretching ahead up the valley to the centre of Méribel resort, but your chauffeur takes an unexpected left-hand turn, winding up a smaller lane, snow piled high either side, and you reach a charming hamlet with a picture postcard pink chapel; you’ve arrived in Méribel Village.
With a discreet and distinctly Savoyard charm this inviting hamlet (the ‘original’ Méribel) and Chalet du Vallon are for a more discerning guest, one who doesn’t seek the hustle and bustle of the resort centre, but instead cherishes beauty and serenity albeit a stone’s throw from the pistes. Perched on the mountain side du Vallon boasts mesmerizing, uninterrupted views across the valley and up towards it’s namesake Mont du Vallon.
You will feel privileged to wake to this view each morning, to play out your holiday memories with such a fantastic back drop, and yet to feel so very at home in the cosy and welcoming arms of Chalet du Vallon. Here you will feel at once both familiar and on holiday as you sink down into the deep sofas to soak in that view from the giant picture windows. As you are poured a glass of champagne by the discreet and attentive chalet host, the roaring log fire warms you and while others choose to explore the pretty hamlet you are content to sit back and unwind; the holiday has begun.
Chalet du Vallon lets each of you craft your own holiday; the separate entertainment room on the ground floor is complete with Sky TV allowing those who choose to stay in touch with the outer world to do so discreetly and in peace. Upstairs on the 2nd floor the spacious, open plan living area takes advantage of the commanding views from this height, with floor-to-ceiling picture windows and a balcony upon which you can enjoy the stunning vista with a steaming hot Nespresso coffee in the early morning light.
After an exhilarating day on the slopes, charging around the 600km of pistes the Trois Vallées spoils you with, enjoy a rejuvenating steam in the chalet’s hamam, followed by a massage to get your legs back in shape to do the same all over again tomorrow! The team of staff will take care of your every need, arranging massage treatments, fetching your favourite tipple and ensuring your ski boots are toasty warm each morning. The Golf chairlift in Méribel Village is a mere 2 minute stroll from the chalet door and rarely sees a queue, but you needn’t worry about shuffling along in your ski boots; a chauffeur driven vehicle awaits to whisk you to the lift, or into the centre should you prefer, it’s your call.
Also awaiting instruction is your own personal chef; a skilled craftsman who will cook up a storm for you each evening with a menu designed to please and excite you with your favourite dishes and palate-pleasing creations. The style of cuisine is down to you; this is your holiday. At breakfast you will certainly enjoy the delicious pastries from the Village des Pains bakery - devotees travel across the region to sample these delicacies that hail from just around the corner! In the evenings after dinner you will also enjoy the hand selected cheeses of the region, perhaps with a glass of something from the Médoc or Cote du Rhone.
For those among you who crave the infamous Méribel après scene you won’t have far to travel; the Lodge du Village is your very own ‘local’ just a two minute saunter from the chalet and featuring the best of the local bands as well as a great value pint by ski resort standards. The hamlet also features a couple of smart boutiques and two restaurants, and of course the shops, bars and restaurants of the resort centre are just a short 2 minute chauffeur drive away.
Méribel Village is a blissful retreat then, in union with Chalet du Vallon giving each of you just what your soul needed, the value of such an experience is not to be understated, but the price here is a steal!

"Team Chalet du Vallon – what can I say? Thank you! Such a beautiful chalet - love the steam room! The team are truly amazing - friendly, fun but professional. What a great combination. I hope & pray that I get the chance to return."
No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful. Full breakfast is cooked & served on 4 mornings and on 2 mornings a continental breakfast will be left out for you to help yourselves.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
