Draining the last drops of your Whiskey Sour you take leave of the New York glam-styled bar and make your way to the vaulted wine cellar for a game of pool – via the slide, naturally. Gliding gleefully into the atmospheric cave you see the teens beat you to it. Never mind – you pass the time investigating the vast collection of wines and select a particularly special vintage Châteuneuf-du-Pape for your gala birthday dinner tomorrow. Thomas pots the black early – and you reclaim the table for the big boys.
Welcome to Chalet Grand Corniche, one of the most playful chalets in the Alps. This expansive and delightful offering flies the flag for Les Gets, and for modern Alpine chalet design. Seamlessly blending into her gorgeous mountain backdrop with traditional construction from local wood and stone, inside Grand Corniche is none-the-less bang up to date.
Vast floor to ceiling picture windows in the open plan dining and living area command spectacular views across the valley, and up to that king of the Alps, Mont Blanc. The in-chalet spa facilities are the best in resort, and even better you reach the chalet from Geneva in little more than an hour – fresh faced and ready to have a spectacular holiday.
You will be impressed at every turn in this exceptional chalet; from the feature central staircase all glass and natural timbers curving attractively as it carves through the 4 floors, to the statement Grand Piano and the antique furniture pieces that subtly compliment the modern design. Everything here has a place, and there is a place for everything.
Relaxing with a book? Curl up by the fire on the comfortable sofas. Or curl up next to an altogether more high tech fire found in the ‘conversation pit’ in the spa. Stunning views await you here through the glass walls - a 180-degree panorama from the glass sauna in fact. Open-air stargazing is a must from the outdoor Jacuzzi, which dazzles with under-water mood lighting and mini water falls to cascade over you, soothing, and with powerful jets easing those aching ski legs. If you’re feeling more active try the well-equipped gym, or perhaps kick back in the TV snug with some freshly popped corn.
More surprises await you courtesy of the fantastic team of professionals in situ; your wish is their command of course, but they will also astonish you with little extra touches throughout your stay. Your own private chef is hugely talented and lovingly creates dishes to appeal to your palates, a truly bespoke dining experience with fine wines to match, and a grand cellar of à la carte vintages for the special family occasion you came to celebrate.
A family favourite is the additional cosy Mazot sitting snugly next to the main chalet; stylish accommodation for four with its own private sitting room and log burner, a master bedroom and bathroom and the mezzanine level adored by the children.
A luxury ski holiday at Grand Corniche is the perfect way to spend quality time with family and loved ones; to revel in real time enjoyed together. Exhilarating moments together on the slopes and long, lingering lunches, followed by a couple of drinks in the lively Irish pub – before hitting the spa or perhaps taking a hot stone massage in the chalet’s private massage suite. You will craft special memories together, including the spectacular celebration dinner served in the vaulted wine cellar, where the pool table is cannily transformed into a large, glamorous polished mahogany dining table. What an atmosphere.
Les Gets is a skiers paradise; hidden treasures await on Mont Cherie especially after a fresh snowfall when the whole backside opens up into a vast powder playground. From Chavannes access the vast 650km of pistes available in the Portes du Soleil ski domain, which stretches across the border to Switzerland for added character and excellent hot chocolates. Your private chalet chauffeur will ensure you make the most of this fortunate position; quickly transporting you to the lift of your choice each morning, and then collecting you from wherever you park your skis at the end of the day. Easy.

“The Grande Corniche, which sleeps 12, complements the now “standard” offerings (outdoor hot tub, designer furnishings, gourmet cuisine and chauffeur-driven 4x4) with quirky extras such as a slide you can zoom down from the fourth-floor bar to the wine cellar on the lower ground floor; a snooker table that converts into a dining table for 22; and a glass sauna with sweeping views.”
Nominee for World's Best Ski Chalet 2015
"Grande Corniche resembles every child's dream chalet: hewn from timber, its sloping eaves are laden with snow and illuminated by tiny lights. Step inside to discover a masterful blend of traditional and contemporary. Boot warmers and the chauffeur service will get you up in the morning, following late nights playing snooker, lounging around the grand piano or stargazing in the outdoor jacuzzi."
Nominee for France's Best Ski Chalet 2016
It was voted France's best ski chalet at the 2015 World Ski Awards, so you'd expect no less than a peachy view of Mont Blanc from the master bedroom of this mountain mansion. Fun is top of the agenda here, the slide from the bar down to the wine cellar is a hoot (especially after a bucketload of vin chaud) and the snooker table transforms into a dining table for 22. New this season is a swanky outdoor infinity pool. May the fun continue...

No need to rush out of bed - tea or coffee will be brought to you. Then on to breakfast - a healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? Full breakfast is served daily. So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. You’re dressed and ready for a glass of something chilled with friends and family, ready to regale them with tales of your mountain adventures that may get a little exaggerated for dramatic effect with each rendition. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen.
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. Dinner is served on 6 nights giving you chance to explore and experience local restaurants.
The chalet provides an open bar of beer, carefully selected chateau bottled wines, spirits and mixers. The chalet can offer an a la carte wine list if you would like to upgrade. Perrier Jouet Champagne is available at all times.
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes. We will do our very best to ensure that your wishes are granted and delivered in resort.
