You’re a romantic at heart, but you’ve a modern day spirit. You appreciate the nice things in life; a touch of glamour, a dash of aspiration, but at the heart of it must be good solid function and practical design. So, no wooden chocolate box chalet for you, but no uncomfortable showpiece either. You want a good solid piece of real estate, close to the slopes and with contemporary, warm style to boot. Not much then.
As you arrive at the chalet, high upon the mountainside and striking in its dark, burnt wood blending into the Alpine forest behind, it is clear this was a great choice for more reasons than one. You’ve already had an entertaining journey from the airport driven personally by Paddy, joint owner of Chaletneuf du Tenne. He has entertained you with tails of ‘the build’ as he and wife Jo oversaw the creation of Chaletneuf du Tenne in 2012. It’s hard to believe the chalet wasn’t always there – this is no modern monstrosity! No, this is a charmingly traditional building, sensitive to its surroundings and yet benefiting from up-to-date interiors, a modern layout with all the luxury touches you could wish for. Bursting with personality.
A unique experience is what you will remember; the little details that added up to build an eye-catching picture for the family holiday album. The bespoke curtains with their iconic alpine images, the quirky kids’ dens, setting for many a game of make believe, snap and top trumps. Memories of the hours spent in the private pool with the kids – the sound of them shrieking with laughter as they play mischievously with their friends, and delight in time spent having fun with you, as a family. You might forget you came here to ski!
Ski you will though, and with no time lost. Just a two minute chauffeured journey from the nearest chairlift – with your driver there to help organise all the children’s’ ski kit - and the prospect of skiing right back to the door should you wish! It’s a relaxing thought that Jo & Paddy will always be on standby with the chalet’s minivan to fetch you whenever you’re ready. So one day you choose to ski until the lifts on the Linga side close – your chariot awaits! The next day you finish up in the resort centre and get swept away by the après buzz at Pub L’Avalanche. Again, your chariot awaits! Châtel is your charming gateway into one of the world’s largest ski areas in the Portes du Soleil, and Paddy and Jo are your local experts always ready with a tip on the best pistes for the day’s conditions. It is at once a friendly, local ski resort and an international ski mecca with Switzerland on your doorstep.
You are really spoilt by the luxury of time here; time spent tucked up by the fire finishing ‘that’ book you started last time you were on holiday, time spent watching a film in the TV lounge with the kids. Time spent simply gazing out of the feature picture windows, taking advantage of Chaletneuf du Tenne’s position high up in the Châtel valley and the vistas this affords. Time not spent cooking as your gastronomic desires are superbly catered for by the accomplished in-house chef. You won’t go thirsty either with a cellar full of carefully selected house wines and an open bar of beers and spirits.
By the end of the week you’ve settled into that blissful holiday routine, eat, ski, eat, ski, swim, eat, sleep, repeat! You won’t believe it’s time to head back to the airport, but don’t worry as it’s only 90 minutes away you definitely have time for one last game of table tennis.

"Amazing chalet with beautiful views. Photos did not do it justice! Living area was really cozy with large comfortable sofas and warm fire - grandparents who didn't ski were very happy relaxing there during the day. The pool was a brilliant feature and so warm we went swimming every day. The kids loved the family suites with their sweet little beds and what was really appreciated were the boxes of toys provided to keep them entertained."
"The chalet was just beautiful and we really didn’t want to leave. It was great to get the fire going and take advantage of all of the board games on offer. The view from the dining room was incredible and we’d always find ourselves gravitating to the dining room just so that we could take in that special view."
Chosen by The Telegraph as an ‘Alpine chalet with amazing spa’ – “It's the last chalet on the road, blending into the forests behind in the French Haute-Savoie, this property has a swimming pool and a den designed for kids.”

A perfect start to the day
No need to rush out of bed - breakfast is laid on. A healthy array of fresh fruit juices, a selection of warming teas and coffee - yoghurts, crispy cereals, juicy fruit and a mouth-watering display of delicious fresh breads & delicate pastries. Your chef will also prepare a daily cooked hot option for you - how do you like your eggs? So much choice that you might miss the first ski lift if you're not careful.
High tea temptations
Come back after a wonderful day on the mountain to the warmth and comfort of your chalet. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of a crackling fire, with a steaming cup of tea and a generous serving of cake – this is how all afternoons should be. Your chef will prepare a fresh from the oven, sweet treat for your return, so whether your preference is for a hearty sticky Apple and Ginger cake or a delicate Mille-feuille aux framboise is more your thing, there will be something tempting waiting for you. Personally I don’t think you can beat a slice of crispy baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of apricot jam or nutella - but maybe that ‘s just me - the perfect comfort food.
Celebrate with Canapés
When staying in a catered chalet every night feels like a special occasion, and why shouldn't it, you're on an amazing holiday and it's so good to be alive. Enjoy the delicious canapés and amuse-bouche freshly prepared by your star in the kitchen accompanied by a delicious ‘aperitif of the day’.
Serving up a sensuous feast
Take a seat at your own private table - it's time for the main event – a delicious feast, masterfully crafted by your talented chef. With an emphasis on using hand-selected, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients you will be served a melt in your mouth three course dinner that wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Dinner is complimented by a tangy platter of divine local cheeses. Menus can be tailored to suit your tastes and your chef will be happy to prepare everything from a simple supper to fine dining delights. The chalet usually serves four 'gourmet' dinners of 4 courses and on two nights serves a simpler 2 course 'family dinners'. Dinner is accompanied by a selection of hand-picked wines and is served on six nights of your stay. Coffee and chocolates are served each evening.
Let the good times flow
The chalet provides an open bar of beer, high quality house wines, premium gin, vodka and local ‘eau de vie’ as well as soft drinks and mixers. There is a champagne reception on your first evening and Crement de Limoux served throughout the week
Children & dietary requirements
The chalet is happy to cater for specific dietary requirements, and will serve an earlier high tea for children. You can talk to your SkiBoutique PA about any specific requests from dietary requirements such as gluten free diets to birthday cakes and favourite dishes.
