Sitting back in your private hot tub, jets soothing your tense muscles, chilled champagne easing you into holiday mode, there is nothing between you and nature. Fluffy white snow surrounds you and flutters from the nearby pine trees, and the infamous mountains of the Mont Blanc range watch over you peacefully. Chalet Fèrme du Bois is like stepping back in time, a traditional gorgeous stone farmhouse, yet with all the modern creature comforts you could wish for, discreetly tucked within.
Fèrme du Bois sits nestled into a quiet corner of Chamonix in the tranquil hamlet of Les Bois. A treasure trove of authentic, beautiful chalets in one of Chamonix’s original villages, and yet despite the peaceful location you are just 2 minutes from the Flégère ski lifts, and only 5 minutes into the very heart of Chamonix town.
If you have always dreamed of that picture perfect rustic French farmhouse, surrounded by snow, then the chances are this is it. Every care has been taken to retain the authenticity of this ancient farm, keeping its spirit alive and setting hearts aflutter. The vast open fire is the dramatic centerpiece dominating the open plan living area; it’s cavernous flue large enough to accommodate Father Christmas and all 9 of his reindeer. You can just picture them all landing with a thud on the solid stone hearth!
Memorable evenings will be spent around this magnificent crackling log fire, catching up on family news and sharing tales of the days skiing exploits. Big comfortable sofas are positioned near the hearth along with cosy fur throws; you might curl up with a good book and a glass of merlot, or perhaps sit further back in the second seating area playing a game of cards.
There is ample space to spread out and enjoy the chalet each in your own way. The large cinema screen in the mezzanine area, reached by a charming spiraled wooden staircase is the perfect retreat with a blanket and a bucket of popcorn.
Chamonix is legendary as a playground for Alpine and winter sports enthusiasts, and you are perfectly placed here to make the most of all that is on offer. Let your chalet chauffeur guide you as to the best ski area for each day’s weather conditions, and drive you there in comfort. If you’ve energy left after a day on the Chamonix slopes (some may say you’ve not skied hard enough), then head into town for some lively après at the Möo bar; your chalet chauffeur will collect you just in time for dinner.
Food is a special part of any holiday and the gastronomes among you will not be disappointed; every care is taken to deliver the experience you desire. So be that simple family suppers, rustic Savoyard fare to match the setting, or a more special fine dining experience, your talented private chef is equal to the task and ready to impress. Sit back on one of the ornately carved dining chairs, as you are served 4 delicious courses each evening, with no danger that you’ll be involved in any washing up. We’ll drink to that!
When it comes to that all-important night’s sleep you are treated to spacious, tranquil havens in warm greys and purples. A morning cup of steaming coffee brought to you in bed will rouse you ready for another big day on your skis. You want for nothing at Chalet Ferme du Bois, save perhaps for another week. Oh well, there’s always next year!

“With its beams, well-worn oak tables and ornate old-fashioned lamps, La Ferme du Bois seems to epitomize Alpine tradition. Its generous living space features a fireplace big enough to stand in and a family of mis-matched squishy sofas and over-stuffed armchairs.”
“Best for traditional Alpine style. This looks like a rather simple, even humble, farmhouse from the outside, but it has the most charming and rustic of interiors, all gnarled and twisted old wood, beautiful antique pieces and ancient artefacts lining the walls. The main living area is huge, furnished with battered chairs, sink-into sofas and elegant desks and lamps, as well as an immense fireplace you can sit in. And not a TV in sight.”
“A charming traditional-style chalet – though modern touches include an outdoor hot tub and a home cinema – which you can book on a fully self-catered basis, have a chef for just one night or have it fully catered according to your own specifications.”
